What. A. Week.
From bonfires to pitch competitions, investor chats to lakeshore hikes, Northern Michigan Startup Week 2025 lit up the region with energy, innovation, and a deep sense of community.
It all started Monday evening with our Launch Party & Bonfire at Mt. Holiday. The event was packed with good energy, the founders shared memorable thoughts in their speeches, and conversations helped spark new ideas. It was the perfect setting to kick off a week rooted in connection, creativity, and big thinking.
Tuesday was also packed with action: fireside chats, venture capital panels, and startup showcases at both 20Fathoms and Grove Incubator. Entrepreneurs got face time with investors from ID Ventures, Red Cedar Ventures, and MI Rise, while the TCNewTech Pitch Competition brought together impressive talent from across the state. Congrats again to the winners: FenX Custom.
Midweek, we gathered at NMC’s Innovation Center for an Innovation Showcase that reminded us just how much potential exists right here in our region. Wednesday wrapped with two unforgettable events: a powerful Women in Tech panel at Tank Space, and a lighthearted, laughter-filled Flabocce Tournament at Right Brain Brewery, proving that startups and fun can go hand in hand.
On Thursday, the energy stayed strong. Founders met with mentors and investors over coffee, and some lucky attendees snagged a spot on the sold-out hike at Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was a perfect reminder of why we love building in this beautiful place. The day closed with the final chapter: the Wrap Party at The Little Fleet, hosted by 20Fathoms. With delicious eats from Crocodile Palace, local brews, and more great conversation, the evening felt like both a celebration and a launchpad for what’s next.
NMSW 2025 reminded us that Northern Michigan’s startup community isn’t just growing, it’s thriving. This week was a powerful glimpse of what happens when people come together with bold ideas, a willingness to collaborate, and a shared belief in building something meaningful.
Until next year, keep dreaming, building, and exploring.
